Junkers EF 137 model kit scale 1:48 or 1:72

According to Reinhard Müller, a researcher specializing in the life and work of Dr. Brunolf Baade, the preliminary design of the Junkers EF 137 was completed in February 1945, shortly before the end of World War II. Notably, alternate sources, including information gathered by Brunolf and Olaf Baade, suggest the project was dated to September 1946. The EF 137’s calculated performance metrics surpassed those of the Messerschmitt Me 262, Germany’s renowned twin-engine jet fighter. By the war's conclusion, theoretical calculations were finalized, and wind tunnel tests were conducted on scale models.
In early 1946, the NKVD initiated an operation to recruit German aviation engineers. Many were relocated to Podberezye, near Moscow, where they were provided with comfortable living and working conditions. The production base for the newly formed design bureau (OKB) was established at sections of Aviation Plant No. 256. By late 1946, the German specialists were divided into two groups: OKB-1 and OKB-2. OKB-1, led by Dr. Brunolf Baade, an expert on swept-wing design and former Junkers engineer, focused on heavy aircraft development. It was within OKB-1 that further work on the EF 137 continued.
The EF 137 featured an innovative design for 1945, including a highly swept wing with a complex shape—37 degrees along the leading edge and 49 degrees along the trailing edge. The fuselage had a spindle-shaped horizontal profile and a triangular vertical cross-section. The aircraft was to be armed with two 23 mm cannons and one 37 mm cannon, all located in the nose. The engines, grouped in a single nacelle beneath the fuselage, shared a distinctive central air intake. The design called for Jumo 004 jet engines, with a single pilot as the crew.
Performance estimates indicated the aircraft could climb to 4,000 meters in 4.75 minutes and reach 10,000 meters in 13.75 minutes, with a top speed of approximately 1,000 km/h.
By 1947, work on the EF 137 was discontinued as the USSR shifted focus to more advanced aircraft designs, such as the MiG-15 and Sukhoi's Su-9 series of heavy interceptors, which outperformed the EF 137 in all respects. All project materials were transferred to the Soviet authorities by order of the Ministry of Aviation Industry, and the German design bureaus refocused their efforts on bomber development.

Including vacuum molded clear canopy.

We have deliberately chosen the FDM process to produce our models. For optimal results, the models are printed at high resolution with custom developed print profiles. This enables us to use bio- degradable materials with minimal waste and no involvement of toxic chemicals. A certain surface roughness is however inevitable. If desired, light sanding will help to improve surface finish.

For gluing, cyanoacrylate glue works well (not included).
